Customer Review: Stainless Steel Egg Cups

The package of 6 stainless steel egg cups arrived very quickly and in good condition. I did not like the packaging which was plastic pouch with rivets. I did not like the rivets, which seemed overkill for fastening the cardboard label and made it difficult to open. Nonetheless, I was very pleased by the quality of the cups. I chose the stainless steel because of the simple spun-metal design, but also for hygienic reasons and for being unbreakable. Other reviews remark they are too large for eggs. Yes, they are taller and wider than a large egg, which can wobble inside, but I used the crusts cut from my toast to make a bottom and a wedge which held the egg in place nicely, having cut the top before inserting. Because of the size, I will also use these cups for little dipping sauces, or to hold small tasty bits of food for appetizers. They may make a nice little mould, too, for my cranberry sauce, or mashed sweet potatoes. I'm going to try that today. I never had eggs in a cup before, it seems indulgent, but it is quite a pleasant way to eat a softboiled egg.
