Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Amco Swing-A-Way 407WH Portable Can Opener, WhiteCustomer Review: Great Can Opener Summary: 5 StarsThis is the best can opener I have found - and I have been using can openers for 55+ years. When all others fail for whatever reason this one keeps working. It has never failed me. The bearings don't give or wobble to allow the opener to slip off the can. The teeth that pull the can through are cut deeper to prevent slipping. Others try to use plastic where this one uses stamped out metal. It is simply the best. I used one on dog food cans for years then lost it in the garage. Several years later I found it and brought it in and cleaned it up and it still works like new. I give them as gifts. This is the only one I recommend. I've seen it being used on the food network and in many restaurants.
Customer Review: Good product does what it has to. Summary: 4 StarsGood product does what its supposed to do. Leaves no sharp edges around can.
Customer Review: Love this can opener! Summary: 5 StarsI got this can opener for my emergency preparedness kit and love it. It is very sturdy and the price was reasonable. I might buy another one soon.
Customer Review: Still Quality After All These Years Summary: 5 StarsWhen the Amco Swing-A-Way that I've had for the last 25+ years just couldn't cut it (ha-ha) anymore, I was happy to find they were still being made. I've used other hand operated can openers at my kids' homes and thought they were junk. But I was also worried that the Swing-A-Way might not be of the same quality as it was when I got my last one.
Happily, that doesn't seem to be the case. The weight and quality seem on par with my old one and, of course, the new cutting edges are clean and sharp, causing my wrists to rejoice. Can openers are a small part of life, but a crappy one can be a daily annoyance.
Recommended.
Customer Review: Had a Swing a Way for over 20 years Summary: 5 StarsI just noticed that my can opener was made in the good old USA! I have had the same can opener since the 1980's. It is a bit rusted...but still opens every can...never a problem. I think I will keep this even if it does stop working...how many products are made in the USA anymore? This may be worth money some day!
